From MVP to Market-Ready: Redesigning MilkUp’s Mobile UI for the Field
Mobile-first UI overhaul of MilkUp — transforming a prototype-stage livestock management system into a fast, scalable interface that helped accelerate the company from early-stage startup to an internationally recognized AgriTech platform.

Company: MilkUp, AgriTech SaaS platform for dairy farm management.
Role: Lead Product Designer.
Stage at engagement: MVP / early prototype, pre-scale, pre-investment readiness.
My scope: User Research, Legacy & Prototype Audit, UI Pattern Design, Mobile-First Prototyping, Multi-stakeholder Collaboration.
Deliverables: Redesigned mobile UI, Scalable component system, Field-optimized interaction patterns.
Product type: B2B SaaS, Mobile-first, AgTech, Legacy redesign.
Problem:
MilkUp had a working prototype but not a field-ready product. Inconsistent patterns and desktop-first flows created friction for vets and farm workers who needed to move fast in demanding physical environments.
Process:
Ran discovery sessions with founders, developers, veterinarians, and farm operators to map real task pain points in context. Audited the prototype, then built a mobile-first pattern system optimized for one-handed use and fast task completion, validated through continuous feedback loops with all user types.
Solution:
A redesigned mobile-first interface built on a scalable pattern library covering health tracking, farm event logging, inventory, and livestock records. Preserved domain logic while replacing prototype-era decisions with consistent, field-ready UI.
Result:
The redesign helped position MilkUp as an investment-ready platform. The company has since signed a partnership with eAswaaq Misr at Cairo ICT, presented at Beyti Academy (Almarai), and been featured in Egypt’s CGIAR-backed AgriTech4Egypt national initiative.
